Buying a Battery for a Classic

Does anyone know how to figure out what kind of battery to buy for my P1800ES? This old car business is uncharted territory for me.

Check the forums. From my quick search, a few people recommended this one:

Bosch

12V 70Ah 570A (EN)

Of course, it was a UK Volvo forum so I have no idea if you can get the same battery.

old cars? whatever fits and has enough juice. I like to oversize them a bit for the hell of it. Or just stuff an optima in there

You can just go to NAPA, Autozone, Advance, or whoever and give them your year to get specs. Most places have batteries made by the same few companies so it's not like the store really matters.

In old stuff I always go for the biggest one I can stuff in there. You never know if you are going to need extra juice because of a light that didn't go out, etc.

I can spot a Beetle battery from across the aisle, it's the one with the cap over the positive lead to keep from shorting out on the seat. Take that Torchinsky.
